Orleans Parish and the metro
Roof Measurement Reports in New Orleans, LA
New Orleans roof reports cover everything from a simple shotgun gable to a low-slope roof, a standing-seam cottage, and the occasional historic slate. Wind and rain are the climate. Flood elevation is somebody else’s form.
Shotguns, slate, and suburban shingles
A camelback or a shotgun with a straight gable can be a fair Basic order: one predominant pitch and a square count. The moment there is a rear addition, a camelback bump, or a separate garage, you want that called out, and you often want Premium so the extra planes are not a shrug. Garden District and other historic roofs include slate. We can measure area when the outline is visible. We cannot tell you the slate is sound, match a quarry, or clear a historic-district material rule. Check those rules with the city before you specify a product.
Metairie, Kenner, and the suburban parishes look more like ordinary architectural-shingle neighborhoods. Do not price them with French Quarter assumptions. Tight Quarter lots are where the neighboring roof gets swallowed into the trace. Zoom in.
Wind, water, and the forms we do not sign
Hurricane wind and tropical rain drive reroofs. We do not inspect roof-to-wall connections, and we do not decide wind versus flood. Elevation certificates, flood zones, and substantial-damage determinations are not in the PDF. If a roof is tarped or partly missing, say so. Old imagery of a pre-storm roof will produce a confident and wrong number.
Low-slope and flat roofs are common enough on local commercial buildings and on some houses that a shingle-only mindset fails. Use a commercial report for a commercial building. Humidity is a given. It still is not a measurement.
Metro orders and the rest of Louisiana
House reports are $16.20 and $21.83. The Louisiana hub covers Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and north Louisiana, where the roofs look less like the Quarter and more like the rest of the Gulf South. Houston is the other big Gulf page. Delivery is 30–60 minutes, imagery permitting, for United States addresses nationwide.
Questions
Can you measure a New Orleans shotgun house?
Yes. Simple gables may only need Basic. Additions, camelbacks, and odd planes should be noted and are usually a Premium order.
Do you certify slate or historic-district materials?
No. We measure area when we can see the outline. Condition, matching, and district rules are not part of the report.
Will the report determine flood zone or wind coverage?
No. Flood and wind determinations are separate from roof geometry.
Do you cover Metairie and Kenner?
Yes. Suburban Jefferson Parish addresses are standard United States orders.
