Roof Measurement Reports in Dallas, TX
Dallas roof reports are mostly composition-shingle geometry in a hail-prone metro. The measurement will not tell you a roof is bruised. It will tell you the squares and the pitch before you drive across the county.
Hail, shingles, and what we refuse to call damage
North Texas springs are known for hail. Insurers and contractors talk constantly about impact-resistant shingles. We do not certify a Class 4 product, we do not count hits, and we do not estimate an insurance payout. If you need those opinions you need a person on the roof. If you need the surface area of a two-story hip in Frisco or a gable in Oak Cliff, the PDF is the tool.
The metro is not one city. Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties share a storm climate and not a single roof age. HOAs in the northern suburbs often restrict materials. That restriction is their rule, not a line on our report. Newer production homes are commonly hip roofs with architectural shingles. Older east and south Dallas houses can be more cut up, with additions that change the predominant pitch.
Heat, attics, and edge lengths
Summer heat ages asphalt. Again, that is condition. What the heat does not change is the estimating math: starter along the eaves and rakes, cap along the hips and ridges. A Basic report omits those lengths. On a typical DFW hip, Premium is the file that keeps the supplier order from being a guess. Waste is still your choice; the table only shows 0–20%.
Detached garages and alley structures in older neighborhoods need a note. A pin on the house does not silently include a garage in the back. Write “house and garage” or “house only.”
Ordering from anywhere in the metro
Prices do not change in hail season. Bid Report $16.20, Premium $21.83. We measure United States addresses nationwide, so Fort Worth, Plano, and Arlington are the same checkout even though this page is about Dallas. The broader state picture, including the Gulf coast, is the Texas hub. Delivery is 30–60 minutes from payment. If a storm week has tarps on every roof and the imagery is older than the tarps, expect a conversation or a refund, not a fantasy diagram.
Questions
Do you measure hail damage in Dallas?
No. The report is area, pitch, and edge lengths. It does not identify bruises or tell a carrier what to pay.
Is the price higher during hail season?
No. A Premium Roof is $21.83 whether you order in April or in August.
Can one report cover a house and a detached garage?
Only if you ask for both in the notes and we can see both from the imagery. Say so explicitly. Each order is still one address.
Do you cover Fort Worth and the northern suburbs?
Yes. Any DFW address in the United States that we can see clearly. This page focuses on the Dallas side of that metro.
