Roof Measurement Reports in Austin, TX

Austin roofs mix standing-seam metal, composition shingles, and tile, often under live oaks that hide the eaves. A measurement report is useful when the roof is visible and misleading when you trace a shadow and call it a rake.

Metal, shingles, and oaks

Standing-seam metal is common enough in Austin, especially toward the Hill Country, that estimators ask for ridge and eave lengths rather than only squares. We can report those lengths on a Premium order. We cannot specify panel gauge, clip spacing, or whether a seam is structural. Shingle roofs in the eastern suburbs and tile on stucco houses are just as common. Treat “Austin roofs are metal” as a myth.

Central neighborhoods and Tarrytown-style canopy are the imagery problem. West Austin oaks cover planes that a new subdivision in the northeast leaves bare. If we cannot see a slope, we will not invent it. The refund policy covers unusable imagery. Winter is not the issue here the way it is in Minneapolis; leaves are.

Infill, additions, and what the pin misses

Infill houses and ADUs mean one parcel can hold two roofs. The order is one pin. Write which structure you want, or order twice. A carport off the alley is the usual missed square. City of Austin permits and local amendments are your process; we do not pull permits or check setback.

Hail shows up in Central Texas storms. We still do not mark spatter or soft metal. If the homeowner’s question is “did it hail,” that is a site inspection. If the question is “how many squares and what pitch,” place the order.

Prices and neighboring Texas pages

Basic is $16.20 and Premium is $21.83. San Antonio is the tile-heavy neighbor. Dallas and Houston are different climates on the same Texas hub. Delivery is 30–60 minutes from payment for a standard order anywhere in the United States we can image clearly.

Questions

Can you measure a standing-seam metal roof in Austin?

Yes, as geometry: area, pitch, and on Premium the edge lengths. We do not specify panels, gauges, or clips.

What if oak trees cover the roof?

If the imagery cannot support a measurement, we refund the order. We do not guess through a canopy.

Do you measure ADUs?

Name the structure in the notes. If it is a separate building you want separately, place a separate order and pin that roof.
